The Metropolitan Museum of Art Designs

The Metropolitan Museum of Art offers classes, workshops, and special events designed especially for teens to develop their skills, connect with art, ideas, and other young people. Events such as art making, performances, gallery activities, music, and dancing are widely available. I was approached by the Met year ago prior to their rebreand to design a variety of programs. These are a selection of some covers and interior spreads which include calendar pages that placed in the Met’s lobby and on their site.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art African Exhibit: Guide for Childern

The Metropolitan Museum of Art approached me to design a Family Guide for their African Art Permanent Collection geared towards children and young teens. This is used for them to walk with while exploring the works of art used in rituals and performances in four African countries (Mali, Sierra Leone, Côte d’Ivoire, and Democratic Republic of Congo) while finding out what secret wisdom they reveal. They could hunt for details and learn facts along the way. I met with the MET’s Education Department and the curator. We toured the world-renowned exhibit for inspiration leaning towards an eye-catching, colorful, vibrant and fun catalog. It’s on display in the MET’s lobby and on the MET’s website.
